Spaghetti squash is a fun one to grow, especially if you've never tried it before. When you cook the mature fruit and scrape out the flesh, it separates into long strands that look and feel like noodles. The flavor is mild, and it works as a base for just about any sauce or topping you'd normally put on pasta. I grew these from a Sweet Yards organic seed pack and had a great season with them. As you can see in the photo, they grow quite well!

These seedlings are healthy and ready to go into the ground. Spaghetti squash is a winter type, so it needs a full season to mature, usually around 90 to 100 days. Give it sun, decent soil, and some space to sprawl. A little tip from my experience: if you limit each plant to 4 or fewer fruits, the plant puts all its energy into those and you can grow some real giants. They store well after harvest too, so you can enjoy them for weeks into the fall and winter.
